2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

Crikey - hi-res screen - loads of functionality and good OEM-like look. Shame about the tacky screen menus!

No indication of what mapping technology or where to buy tho'.

Hi,

I emailed the folks who make this to get some more, information.
It's based on Windows CE 5.0 and also have a capability for AV inputs, so that you can watch video on the builtin screen.
There is also an ability to add a reversing camera and connect it to the unit.

Regards

Paul;

Did they say anything about pricing and Europeian retailers?

Maybe you could load Tomtom Navigator 7 on to it?

I have a portable 7 inch CE based GPS and you can run most GPS software, if you have it. (Also from China - cost A$250. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/drea...003L-.html )

I run the latest USA Nav N Go GPS software that is the best I have ever used - even better than Tom Tom which I once preferred.

See: http://www.navngo.com/pages/global/eng/igo_8_description

It's all run off a SD card, so I can also swap to the off road software, when needed by just swapping a SD card.

I run OziExplorer CE offroad - you can use your own map scans to navigate from - all on the 2nd
SD card.

This is a much better system than the old expensive DVD based GPS systems.

It also plays mp3s,Xvid movies, views pics etc and has Bluetooth - none of which I use. You can set it up to jump straight to the GPS software on start-up.

Hi Paul,
I have also emailed the manufacture ( Shen Zhen Chele Digital Technology Co LTD) regards this product and they will sell a "sample" unit with test maps only as they require an order of 50 units to supply full maps (Australian in my case) at $550 USD plus $65 for the rear camera. Add whatever I need to pay for maps providing I can find suitable Windows CE 5.0 compatible Aussie maps, I think it has a lot of promise.
The picture that they sent me shows the English menu without the Chinese characters whish looks good.
Has anyone (assuming there are people out there reading this forum) tried one of these???

Cheers Barry

Amassing an order of 50 is rather unlikely for me. But if they could sell another sample to me, then I have my own software that's WinCE 5 compatible.
Can you let me know the manufacturer's email? I did try through the website, but haven't got any response.
