Good morning everyone. Me and my partner use our Freelander 2 quite often for off roading and green laneing. We brought the car with the tow bar already on it and do plan to tow with the car in future. After contacting a couple of companies about getting it swapped out for a removable tow bar, they told us it would be a bad idea as the mounting could sit lower than what we already have. Even if it doesn't then there is a high chance it'll fill up with dirt and grime over time and render it useless.

This did cross my mind but didn't think the hole was big enough for it to fit. Has anyone actually tried this and can confirm that Simon's idea works? |

Well, that’s the way I fitted the cable harness! You connect up the wiring and then pass the socket through the hole in the floor. |

Ah I see! in the videos that I watched, they were doing it the other way and passing the cables up through the bung. Does anyone know where I might purchase a new bung to seal the hole as nothing obvious pops up when I do the Googles. |

Have a look and see if any of these match the dimensions:

You’d never get the trailer module (the black box) through the hole! |

they were passing the cables up through the bung and then connecting them to the box/terminal block. |

Those tow bar electrics look the same as what I had on mine I cannot remember which end of the loom goes through the hole but one end does very easy to fit and uninstall if it's the outer end that goes through you may have to split the socket and take the center out |
