The warranty is a 3rd party one so a max of £45 per hour labour but all parts covered, so warrany route it is. |

Friend of mine had a Discovery engine blow up on him when camshaft broke, luckily he had two days of LR warranty remaining so all sorted but don't hang about, get that car to the garage asap so that you have witnesses as to when it happened. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Local landrover specialist assessed car today, unserviceable turbocharger, warranty company want it taken off for bench testing/repair/replace. Won't commit to it being at fault until its investigated off the car at a turbo specialist. I said if it needs replacing I want genuine landrover, they have said it will be spec as it left factory so might be an argument if it comes to a full replacement. |

Sounds just like the hassle my son had with Warranty Direct on a Porsche 911. I have just renewed my extended warranty with LR, not as cheap but no excess to pay and they have been very good in the past. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It's hassle the repairing garage cannot fit/guarantee parts repaired/supplied by 3rd parties, So. I have the diagnosis need a garage now that is happy to fit a repaired/ outward sourced turbocharger. Needless to say I am not renewing the warranty |

Update: The garage approved by the warranty company are going to spesk to them this morning, however reading the small print it is their policy to have equipments removed and repaired/replaced with item that match Original Vehicle Specification.

Well it is Monday now and the garage rang me at 4:45pm "Sir we have your freelander here can you clarify what we have to do with it"? Me "Yes you had to take off the Turbocharger first thing today and send it for repair" Garage: "well sir we have been extremely busy and when you dropped the car off you spoke to the boss, who is on holiday this week, hence the call to clarify what is happening with it"

Frustratinly my car has been sat in the Warranty companies approved garage for a week now. Excuses like short staff/illness etc. I have had to take the decision to move to another gargrage who cannot start it until April 1st, at least I have used this garage before and I trust them.

Well the car has not been in for repair yet but frustratinly now all the faults have cleared, although I expect the codes are still stored in the computer.
