United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

Have a look at the MY2015 Brochure.

Full Size Spare Wheel £185 Option on all models, including Metro.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fwsyx91fjag1s76...t_15MY.pdf

Mine still had brand new Full Sized spare in boot, unfortunately I it was not much of an advantage to me as I sliced the sidewall in a country lane pothole about 4k miles after I fitted it to car. (still in my garage as I have an additional full sized spare I bought for my last car) FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

I passed my test at 17, some 48yrs ago. I learnt to drive with my father, he told me this nugget of information, which I have kept until today, the 'spare tyre' requirement.
Now you are telling me my father lied to me ..... Big Cry well that's parents for you.

What is the nugget of info?

I also passed my test at 17.......3 days after my birthday.

I taught myself to drive by arriving at work an hour early and moving cars around the showroom and twice a week driving cars through the ring at the local car auction.
(they never even thought to ask the 16 yr old his age, despite looking like a 12 yr old).
Then borrowed my brothers Mini Cooper for the test.
That was in 1964.

I wouldn't be without a spare wheel in any car. A space saver can still get you home , a ruined tyre can ruin your day, your trip away, your holiday it's just crazy not to have one. BMW lost a sale when we were looking at an X1 to be told space saver wasnt an option, 'we use run flat tyres sir', do you indeed? Bye! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

How many breakdowns due to punctures have you had?

I have had one puncture in 40 years and over a million miles of driving.

A couple of years ago destroyed 1 tyre & also 3 punctures. Also lent the repair kit to one person from a stone through the thickest part of off road tyre, as they left their kit in another car but had a compressor. Also a couple who had bought a new car, a stone through the tyre & the spare was flat. Last year no punctures which was nice!

Maybe 5 or 6 punctures over my driving life? I've been able to fix them myself and carry on. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I don't consider a puncture to be a breakdown, Which magazine may do so to emphasise unreliability of certain makes Whistle my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

It is for many people these days - either the run flat was too damaged, they cant use the repair kit, or they cant change a wheel. Jules
