Diesel cars built from 2019 on JLR’s premium transverse architecture (PTA) appear to share the original exhaust architecture layout.

Am I reading that correctly that the new updated model (facelift) has the same exhaust / DPF as the earlier cars?
I was hoping that all has been made good with the newer model. Rolling Eyes Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I think the “new” DS was new only from the platform up.......in all fairness the actual platform is a good one, the drivability, NVH and handling are good it’s just (or appears to be) the powertrain installation is causing these issues. Regards

But it was supposedly the old platform (Freelander 2) that prevented the fitment of a close coupled DPF that works well in the Jaguar version of the Ingenium installation? Have they just thrown the same engine and exhaust into the new platform, despite being well aware of the issues? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Sorry to avoid confusion the new DS I was referring to was the pre 2020 model, the latest DS has the new PTA platform but of course this platform was being designed and engineered years ago so I doubt it has been engineered to avoid the issues that came to light while being designed. Regards

David
