Discovery 2 Galvanised Chassis

Can anyone recommend a place to purchase a galvanised chassis for a Disco 2. IIRC remember these being available for a couple of years back for £1,500 - £2000. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I would have said Richards ....... but they only do Series and Defender.

with the problems Disco II back end chassis are having, some one must ?
I know there is a repair kit for that.

Try BuzzWeld,

Richards chassis do make a Discovery chassis ( I have resisted the temptation to type DO In capitals) Whistle but the are not shown on their website but are sold Via Britpart, They are not cheap however! Big Cry You could also try terraintechparts who have sell their own make at a much cheaper price! Thumbs Up

As I understand it Britpart sell Richards Chassis under a Britpart part number. Richards do not list a Discovery chassis on their website but as Mikey says you may be able to buy direct if you ask. If not looks Mikey could order you one up! Thumbs Up

Britpart have both early and late chassis in stock, at £3500 + VAT

Made using the GKN jigs, so everything lines up as per factory specs Thumbs Up

I gave consideration to re-chassis'ing (is that a word?) my D2 and running it for a lot more years. It was only very slightly rusty in a few places and could have been repaired to pass several more years MOTs as it was but at 165000 miles a lot of other parts were getting tired and Id had to replace the flywheel and clutch then the cylinder head, then had another head gasket fail soon after. I just felt that it was becoming expensively unreliable and it was time for a change to much younger fresher car, hence a 10 year newer Freelander Thumbs Up

Happy with the Freelander but I miss that big old bus with its acres of boot space and lovely Td5 engine. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
