if you put the key in the slot and press and hold the start button without touching either clutch (manual) or brake (auto) pedals then the ignition is switched on but not the engine started.

Low fuel, low washer fluid etc all give a tone on startup. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Some Freelander's have a habit of bleeping for no apparent reason at start up, mine does when it feels like it. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018
