I had a spam call telling me there was a problem with my broadband. I then put the phone down several times on an almost identical genuine call from BT telling me there was a problem with my broadband...

I still regularly get the "you were recently invioved in an accident that wasn't your fault" calls. I go along with them for a while just answering "yes" to all their questions but without giving any information away. After a while they get a bit annoyed when you say yes and don't actually answer their request for information. At that point I say to them that they are the other driver and were at fault so when are they going to give me the money. It's a bit of fun if you have 10 minutes to spare and it does stop them calling another potential victim in that time.

I had one of those ''you've been in an accident'' calls not so long ago while I was at work.

haha...I do the same, although in my case I was stuck down a well, one of my legs was bent over my head.....and arm is broken......and I ask how they knew so fast as I am still waiting for the emergency services to arrive, at the point when I ask if they called them as no-one else is around oddly they often hang up Regards

I have had a number from italy ring me on two occasions, the first was one ring and then hung up, the second time it was half a ring and then hung up. I googled the number and apparently its a scam where they hope you ring back the number at which point it rings and rings and appears not to be answered - however it actually gets picked up straight away and the ringing is actually a recording and you end up paying the premium rate call charges, quite clever that one...
