Loose Sports Grille

Anybody help me with this one?

Treated the FL2 to the works yesterday and whilst polishing it noticed that the honeycomb sports grille was loose at one end. I know these are 'glued and 3M taped' into place so rang a LR centre who booked me in for the next day. Having looked at it they say it is not covered by warranty because it is an 'add-on'. I protested and confirmed that the bodykit was factory fitted prior to being registered. They then replied that it would have to go into a bodyshop and I would be charged but the best thing to do would be to nip into the supplying dealership as they fitted it in the first place. I pointed out that the supplying dealership was 2.5 hours drive from where I live! No attempt was made by the dealer to fix it for me (or even a temporary measure) and they seemed quite happy for me to drive off their forecourt with the worry that the grille could fall off at any point and get crushed under the FL2 as I drive over it!! (at which point I presume i would be help responsible for the cost of a complete new grille)

Have spoken with another dealership and advised that it is a sports grille fitted and they seem quite happy for me to go in on Thursday - hopefully they might sort it out for me!

Going on hols on Saturday and would like it to be relaxing - its not going to be if I constantly worrying if they grille is still on!!

Same happened to me, I had mine fitted at local body shop-most of the kit had popped off, Grill fell off, front and back bumper skirts and both front door skirts, took it back and they bonded it on with the stuff for stickin windscreens on.

that is quite clearly wrong Evil or Very Mad

any part fitted that is genuine OEM by LR is covered by the 3 years warranty and should be therefore fixed by any LR dealership

I would give the dealer principle a call and make your feelings known, as well as LR themselves Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

He's right I did read that if they are fitted by landrover on a new vehicle it is covered as long as the vehicle is under warranty.

The dealer advised that after-market addons (even if fitted by LR) are only covered by a 1 year warranty.

To be honest they only seemed interested in how they were going to recover the cost of sorting it out rather than helping out me, their customer!

I presume since it was ordered brand new with HST bodykit it will be on the original invoice, therefore go back and tell the moron to check page 42 of the accessories handbook where it clearly states

Quote:
All Land Rover Approved Accessories fitted by a Land Rover Dealer within one month or 1,000 miles/1,600 kilometres (which ever occurs first) of the handover of a new vehicle will benefit from the same warranty terms and period of cover as the
vehicle warranty. Accessories purchased outside of these parameters will be subject to 12 month unlimited mileage warranty.
All Land Rover Approved Accessories are rigorously tested to the same exacting standards as those applied to our
vehicles. Performance in extreme hot and cold temperatures, corrosion resistance, impact and airbag deployment highlight some of the exhaustive product testing carried out to ensure accessories are both durable and importantly, continue to
comply with current legislation. All our accessories are designed to be an integral part of Land Rover vehicles. While many items such as roof carriers are simple to fit, some products require specialist tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure
correct integration with the vehicle structure and electrical systems.

I hate Censored companies who either don't know the warranty or just try and get out of work because they can't be bothered Exclamation Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

With the problems Nick has had with his car I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't recite it!
