Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Indus Silver

Just phoned local dealer (T&C Aberdeen) and the new heater will be available as of Thursday 18th.

I was told that it would take 2 1/2 hours for the new heater/electronics to be fitted.

Unfortunately due to prior commitments and being so close to Christmas, I can't get mine in until January Big Cry ______________________

Thats strange, my problem was with the dates they gave me where either a loan car was available or getting one of their guy's to give me a lift into work (Portlethen)

I could have taken it next Thursday and waited 2 1/2 hours, or Monday 22nd with a lift, or Christmas eve when I could have had a loan car. None of the dates suited so I'll freeze my Do-Dahs off until January, but at least the fix is here now instead of waiting until Feb/March next year. Thumbs Up ______________________

Loan car? They never said anything about that. I was going to come in from Kintore @ the crack of dawn and sit. It was the wife that asked about LR paying for fuel. Kintore to Altens at rush hour took 1hr 50 the last time i did it a few weeks back. Got mine in for next Friday as well, can't wait, I'm fed up of getting to work, and only just getting heat from the car.

It's for the time it takes to heat up. With this heater, you get hot air pretty much as straight the way, where as without it, I can drive for 5-10 minutes before getting warm air, or longer if your driving slowly.

Once the engine is warm, it doesn't do anything.

Not sure what you have in the HSE, on mine (GS model) there is a button on the dash called "PROG". Pushing this button brings on an electric heater (and heated rear screen) which gives you instant heat on cold mornings.

There is a problem with the control circuitry for this heater whereby condensation from the AC unit can drip down onto this circuitry and cause a short circuit and potential fire inside the vehicle. Most of us have been without this heater since the only fix at the time was to pull out the fuse to it.

A fix is now available hence the reason everyone is racing to get it done with all the cold weather we have been having lately.

Has yours been fixed before you bought the car, or has it just had the fuse pulled. You can check by removing the battery cover and the fuse (if pulled) should be attached to one of the batery cables.

Alternatively phone the supplying dealer to check the status of your car.

Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Narvik Black

Just called T&C (Aberdeen) and my car is booked in for a multiple fix visit.

Advised that the part is on order and 18th as a provisional date for receipt. If it is in T&C will fit it then.

Seems LR are stocking up south to north?

For clarity: Does the PROG button neeed to be pressed for the Aux Heater to cut in? I thought it was automatic on start up until the colant reaches required temp?. 07 RRS Java Black
