So exactly what has this do do with the features of a Discovery 5.

My thoughts exactly!! This would be one of the last cars I’d ever buy and this certainly does nothing to help. What were they thinking? At least they majored on not showing the outside of the car! |

Don’t really see the issue. It’s an advert. Who cares? 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |

Exactly. A Discovery 5 IS just another car with back seats and a sunroof. They have achieved their "Mission to Anonimity" Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

Precocious child actors are guaranteed to make my toes curl; but give the boys and girls at JLR Marketing a chance, it is part of a series of adverts.

All advertising these days involves selling you a lifestyle rather than focusing on the actual product, this latest advert is no different. Take the Range Rover Velar advert where the car drives into a posh house protected by wolves. You don't get to see much of the car itself, however, the advert centres on the lifestyle that the driver has.

Surely it is a family car? Yes it has off-road capabilities but these days few Land Rovers actually venture away from tarmac. Selling the brand is key to it's survival as it is with all brands, be it cars, clothes, whisky etc.

The Discovery has always been a family car, and has been bought for its practicalities by families for years. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |
