Wheel Arch Trim

I have a 57 plate manual TD4 XS just turned 40k miles and just out of warranty. Over the last few months I have had some of the wheel arch trim/ protection strips (no idea what correct name is) replaced as they have started to come away from the lip of the wheel arch. Just noticed the final ones (against rear door closure) starting to deform and will soon need replaced - is this a common issue?

I'll have a go at an ex gratia replacement if other memebers have noted same issue - the others were all replaced without comment at the dealer.

Yep my 57 SE that I recently bought from Landrover had the problem on all 4 wheel arches. They replaced the rear two because I moaned although they did try to get out of it. It is going back in a couple of week times to get a few little things done - I will be making sure they replace the front two whilst I am at it! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Yep, a couple of mine are coming loose. One on the front got caught up in suspension coil spring. Made a right mess of it.
Going to get them replaced at the next service.

Took mine in for a service and whilst there looked around the dealers forecourt at the used ones on display, everyone over 18 months old had the wheelarch trim flaring away from the body at the ends.
The product is similar in looks to something called Tite n fast which is used to protect sheet steel edges where they might be touched by hand and could be sharp.
Its basically a steel U section covered in rubber thats hammered over the edge and the problem is when its cut to length the steel bit is left exposed thus a bit of rain and salt and it corrodes and expands out, the ends need sealing to protect them when fitted.

Oh another thing, never noticed much until I had mine, but the vast majority of Freelanders seem to be driven by ignorant old farts that dont acknowledge you when you let them through, but that said, they are obviously the only ones that can afford them I expect. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Tambora Flame

Mines gone too - all 4 corners. Looks a bot of a mess, In fact the F N/S is missing altogether.
I'm assuming as its 4 years old now, that LR won't entertain a goodwill claim but anyone know what this trim costs from LR?
It looks pretty standard stuff too so presumably if you know what its called and the spec you could get it elsewhere? Anyone have any ideas? 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Had three coming loose which I mentioned several days before the warrenty ran out. Dealer ordered 4 replacement ones which were fitted a couple of weeks afterwards Thumbs Up . No dealer quibbles and obiously a designl problem that LR are very aware of. I was told that the metal clip material inside the trim goes rusty and disintergrates.
