Yep my 57 SE that I recently bought from Landrover had the problem on all 4 wheel arches. They replaced the rear two because I moaned although they did try to get out of it. It is going back in a couple of week times to get a few little things done - I will be making sure they replace the front two whilst I am at it! Yep, a couple of mine are coming loose. One on the front got caught up in suspension coil spring. Made a right mess of it.

Took mine in for a service and whilst there looked around the dealers forecourt at the used ones on display, everyone over 18 months old had the wheelarch trim flaring away from the body at the ends. The product is similar in looks to something called Tite n fast which is used to protect sheet steel edges where they might be touched by hand and could be sharp. Its basically a steel U section covered in rubber thats hammered over the edge and the problem is when its cut to length the steel bit is left exposed thus a bit of rain and salt and it corrodes and expands out, the ends need sealing to protect them when fitted. Oh another thing, never noticed much until I had mine, but the vast majority of Freelanders seem to be driven by ignorant old farts that dont acknowledge you when you let them through, but that said, they are obviously the only ones that can afford them I expect. I was only wrong once and thats when I thought I was but wasnt. 2010 Freelander 2 XS Stornaway Grey 2010 Aston DBS Morning Frost 2010 Bentley Continental Brooklands Green |

Had three coming loose which I mentioned several days before the warrenty ran out. Dealer ordered 4 replacement ones which were fitted a couple of weeks afterwards . No dealer quibbles and obiously a designl problem that LR are very aware of. I was told that the metal clip material inside the trim goes rusty and disintergrates. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
