Are these a direct fit as they're listed as Compatible With: H8/ H9 / H11 but doesn't mention HB3? |

Do they project a beam pattern like the halogen globe? The suppliers can very simply photograph the beam pattern, a few minutes of time to photograph & post an image, & there would be a hint of credibility of the product. If they don't have a beam pattern very similar to the halogen globes they are a waste of money & time replacing them.

None of the compatibility charts will say that they fit but believe me - they are a straight swap for any H11 bulb. Just make sure that you have the correct polarity. Cheers, Raz FL1 TD4 GS Auto 2001 Silver FL2 TD4 Auto 2007 Black FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2012 Fuji White |

With a projector type headlamp the beam pattern is unchanged due to the design of the 'mask' which effectively blocks a portion of the light output. If anything I have found that there is a more uniform spread of light within the beam pattern, making kerbs easier to spot in very dark roads. The same however cannot be said for reflector headlamps as the focal point is very sensitive and if the light source is even a couple of millimetres out of position, the beam pattern is horribly affected, causing dazzle to oncoming drivers. Having said that, I have tried a pair of these (H7 ) in my main beam and although the brightness is outstanding, I find that there isn't a 'hotspot' to penetrate the darkness where you need it most. Just to add to your confusion, HB3 is the same as 9005 and H11 is the same as H8 and H9

I think Razman has a Prefacelift Freelander which has the headlights that have 2 bulbs, one for dip and another for main beam. This uses different bulbs from the later single H3 bulb with shutter for main/dip beam as fitted to the 13my facelift model. |
