Scotland want rid of nukes

Economy will be just fine, latest data backs this up, despite almost no income from O+G sector

Rolling with laughter O&G on its knees .. no currancy , no credit rating apart if you count as good as Kazakhstan, no nukes means 1000's out of work in supporting companies , no RN ships being built , more unemployed as basically RN ships are the only thing that's being built on the Clyde .. never mind that we will have freeeeddddduuumm from the horrible English , don't try and say it's freedom from Westminster, that's just a smokescreen from the snp's hatred of all things English/British .
The snp are holding a 2 day debate on Indy2 , not once did wee nippy get on her feet to defend her record on schooling , NHS , police Scotland or the economy. Over 2000,000 people have signed an online petition against another referendum.

O+G shrank to almost nothing. Scotlands economy shrank by 0.2%. An iScotland is not dependant on oil/gas income

We have the Scottish pound. Initially linked to the England pound, until Scotland becomes strong enough to no longer need it

Our prospective credit rating seems to be rather good too

Quote:
The Scottish economy is rich and relatively diversified, with 2014 per capita GDP estimated to be US$47,369 (based onthe Scottish government's estimates, which include Scotland's geographic share of North Sea output, abbreviated asScotland (Geographical) in the table above). Scottish wealth levels are comparable to that of the U.K. ('AAA'), Germany('AAA'), Ireland ('BBB+'), and New Zealand ('AA-'). Even excluding North Sea output and calculating per capita GDPonly by looking at onshore income, Scotland would qualify for our highest economic assessment. Higher GDP percapita, in our view, gives a country a broader potential tax and funding base to draw from

Faslane employs just 560 people...

Scotland will need its own ships/fleet built. Where can we build them? Wink

Whenever I have had need to use a Police Scotland, or the NHS, I have had no complaints with the service received...

Scotland 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Firenze Red

Faslane employs 560 people Rolling with laughter .. the company I worked for used to do service work in the base and would never be counted as being employed . Helensburgh nearly shut down the yanks left , it would be a ghost town if the subs moved out.
Aye the NHS is brilliant, try telling my dad that , he had pancreatic cancer, rushed in to A&E a few times at 11pm , still lying there on a trolley in a corridor 10 hrs later because there wasn't a bed. Last year my mum had to go into hospital a few times , ward was closed for 2 day's because of infection. Nurse don't give a hoot if you take the medication, I witnessed it , the nurse near took a short cut home out of the window. Police Scotland didn't see a crashed car with 2 dead inside it for the best part of a week all because they are so under staffed. I reported a crime to the police station in my home town on a Saturday night , I was told I just caught him as the place was closing.. at 9pm .. 1 cop on duty and couldn't leave the building.
Btw who is going to pay to build these warships ? If Scotland leaves the uk it will have a £15b deficit at the word go .. scotlands economy is the slowest growing economy in Europe.
I'm not going to post on this anymore as someone's tag line on this forum sums up the conversation.
Btw the credit rate post is null and void .. try looking up this years rating , as I said earlier it's on par with the third world. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I get it... you're strong enough to leave, but need our help to do it. Razz

Given what's happened today I think we need to give the independence thing a rest.

The SNP quote of 560 people working on Trident in Faslane, incorrect most are in Coulport, however they fail to mention that should those jobs and Trident go then there will be no Trident submarines, the Trident subs (V class submarines) now consist of 1/3 of the UK submarine fleet. The basic engineering of the submarine fleet propulsion and reactor are the same whether V class A class or T class, the UK government will not have 2 bases it either stays in Scotland or moves south, there are 6000 personnel navy, civil servants and permanent partnership staff based in Faslane plus about 1000 outside contractors, then there is Coulport where there is another 2000 plus local workers, OK not all live in Helensburgh, the effect will be far greater than the exit of the US from Dunoon as the Polaris at Dunoon was based on US depot ships manned by US naval personnel and very little shore based support, however the US government paid considerable sums into the local economy which became apparent when they left.
Quadruple that effect in Helensburgh and the surrounding district you may get close to the Dunoon effect, despite the SNP claims that it could be used as the Scottish Naval base it is a submarine support base not a surface fleet base Rosyth is more suitable for that nor is it designed for civilian ship support or dockyard.
They are the facts anything else is waffle my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
