Yes, they were Thumbs Up

Quote:

'The frantic attempts by government and press to delegitimise the decision by the Scottish first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, to call for a second independence vote fall flat. Her party’s manifesto for the last Scottish election gives her an evident mandate: it would hold another referendum “if there is a significant and material change in the circumstances that prevailed in 2014, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against our will"

This is the material change they refer to...

The vote to leave the EU was a uk vote , thus Scotland didn't vote to stay in as Scotland didn't have a vote . The majority of Scots don't want another neverendum , the snp don't speak for Scotland as they are a minority parliament backed up by the greens .
Can't wait for the elections to get the torys more power. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

There was certainly a lower franchised voter turn out in Scotland for brexit than for independence, so one could say the brexiters and the don't cares are the majority not the remainers, so really that nullifies the beloved Nicola's claims Scotland voted to remain, most of her arithmetic has an interesting bias towards her view. She actually lost votes SNP wise in the last Scottish parliament elections so as the SNP no longer have an outright majority, so no mandate to call for a referendum. Without the Greens she would lose, and the Greens is another load of single view party without considering the wider aspect of their demands. Nicola wants Scottish oil, the Greens say all drilling should be banned, good basis for an alliance? my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.

She campaigned against independence
She campaigned to stay in the EU
Now she is all for leaving the EU
Still against independence

Just a Scottish mouthpiece for WM Tories...

What's your point ? Like any sensible person she campaigned for what she believed in , when she lost she got on with the job in hand and is fighting to help Britain to get the best it can .
Then you have wee nippy and wee fat eck lost both referendums yet they have done nothing but bitch and bitch about how it's everyone else's fault about this that and the next thing .. snp have been in power for nearly 10yrs .. NHS at an all time low , police Scotland is a joke and they have made a pigs ear of teaching , Scotland used to be in the top 5 in the world for acadeamia now it doesn't make the top 15 , some feet in 10yrs . All of these things are devolved yet people like you still blame the torys and Westminster.. Britain is on the up on the worlds stage and has been for a good number of years both in industry and financially , slowly catching up on Germany .
I'm no Tory, I remember what thatcher did to the steel industry and the miners when I was a lad .. then I grew up and listen to what actually happened bithe these 2 industries cut their own throat because they would move with the times and use modern day practices.. it takes 5 guys to do a certain job and the unions refused to streamline the job by bringing in new machinery that could do the same job with one or two guys and both industries died of a 1000 wounds .. Korea , German and the rest of the world could produce the iron and coal at a far cheaper rate , guess where governments went to buy the iron and coal .. that's righ everywhere apart from the uk .
Wee nippys politics are divide and conquer, unfortunately for her the majority of Scotland are Censored off with her and pushing people to vote Tory .. i for one will be doing so . Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

At 16, any person can leave school, get a job, pay their share of Income tax/N.I. Why shouldn't they have a say in how their country is run? Confused

Not dissimilar to EU remoaners complaining after the Brexit vote that in the 2 years it takes to exit, 16 year olds would be 18, so they should get a vote too!

Apply that logic to General Elections and 14 year olds will get a vote.
