OK. I have been talking to the guy who sells these map updates. He says its just a map update and no firmware update is included. i'm trying to update from 07 maps to 2016 maps. According to him on my 07 maching there is no hard drive and all maps and navigation is done from the dvd. Can anyone else confirm this???

When I updated my old car sat nav 2007 to 12/13 it took about 15 minutes to update and there was a slight change in the function buttons if I remember rightly. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

It should bring up a screen saying updating, mine did then you wait and let it do its thing which took 15 minutes. Sometimes it takes longer. If you do a search on this forum you'll see what I mean. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

There is definitely a software upgrade when going from 2007 to 2014 maps as it did occur on my car when i put the new disk in. There are 2 option that might occur, one the disk you got is marked as 2015 but it is actually an older version, second option your Sat Nav software was already upgraded before. As the older FL2 models did not had HDD the DVD is containing all the maps but the satnav unit does have a small program built in on it which will contain among other things all the buttons and colors. i can look tomorrow and let you know which button was added after the upgrade |

There was a thread on here about putting dvd in pc, reading a file, and confirming what year it is. |

After starting navigation guidness press menu and you should see (or not) the "cancel guidness" button, i am almost sure it was not there before the upgrade.
