Re: Sat nav upgrade

Well is getting weirder, good news is I got it to read map data and looks like it works,
but now I have some yankee snowbird squawking at me about traffic circles and freeways, and its asking for Zip codes on the destination screen. Strange thing it takes a UK post code (Alfa numeric) when zip codes are only numeric.
Kind of miss the sophisticated lady that showed me the way to go home (her sister works for the lift company I think)
I can see anywhere that allows you to change the voice.

I have the cancel button, but still not convinced it has upgraded the maps.

Hi Yelnats69.
It's easy to change the languages on your sat nav.
Press the "settings" button followed by "preferences". Bottom right you can change the language easily.

On another note.. can anyone tell me if you can find the software version of the sat nav in the hidden menu??? if so, what code needs to be put in. I think i may have the newest software on mine and that's why it's not getting updated with the newest map upgrade disks.

I was looking to change it back to the UK accent, and postcode and roundabouts, not traffic circles zipcode and frreways

Surely, By selecting UK english...you will get rid of your american woman and her freeways etc. Have you tried it??

Reading between the lines, I think your supplier is providing counterfeit discs...... No true LR disc (or other Navteq disc) will do that. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Be interesting to know how many software updates occurred over the life of the FL2. I have 2016 disks on my MY 11, but only once did the software appear to update over the various years of disks.

Perhaps the Forum admin would not object to naming the ones that don't work, perhaps the legal ones may get more trade Smile my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

It was working for me, upgrade and update maps from second source.
Bought from the UK used in Germany on SE 2008

If its still not working after 4 pages of advice on here maybe its time to give up on it and take it to a specialist?

The OP stated that they were not looking for "use a genuine disk" advice, but I think this thread speaks for itself.
The time and energy involved must be more than biting the bullet for a proper upgrade.
Also, I would be concerned about introducing pirated firmware/software that has god knows what on it.

This is exactly what the forum is for!
Otherwise i can just go to the dealer for
Everything.

Are you seriously think that a second source seller
Will put somthing extra on the disk? Are you aware
That the car hase no conectivity to the internet?
