Uninsured and this seems a rather large bill indeed. Just tried the local rags to see if anyone would help and the witness said it was horrific. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Unfortunately pet ownership and vet bills cost have increased due to insurance claims culture and most been insured

End of the day, the dog's fixed now. What they going to do if they don't get the money? Break the legs again? |

I have never been in this senario but would a vet not ask if they could afford the treatment before they start |

If you cannot afford to insure a dog, do not get one.

Had working black labs for years and never had pet insurance. I just put a few quid aside every month for routine vet bills. If lumbered with a big bill I'll just pay it. Once had to take one of my dogs to the big vet hospital near bristol and when given the bill they asked me for insurance details. When I said I didn't have insurance they reduced the bill! Might be wrong but believe insurance cover gets more expensive in a dog's later years as does what is covered. 11 GS Bali Blue

According to my daughter not with Petplan if you take out the "Cover for Life" policy.

Some policies only cover items once. A friend of ours used to have a horse and they had a few claims on it during the time they owned it. In the end, only one leg was covered as the other three had had claims on them! |

I bet that vets love you. People paying their over inflated vet fees! To start with I assumed this was an early April fools |
