Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue

The "old" engined models will hopefully depreciate massively, which means when I am looking for a DS for the wife, we will get her a bargain.

She doesn't care what engine it has, as long as it goes.

The 2.2 is tried and tested, with no major issues.

Perfect car for us. Just not t £35k Whistle

I too, had a train of thought that the current engine in the DS may be worth a look in 12 months time, I put a lot of miles on the car and expect it to be worth little when I am finished, it's also slightly different in having my own business, rather than a 'private' purchase, as such.
However, with the present under current surrounding diesel cars I am thinking that it may be a very unwise decision, government will no doubt attempt to reduce the pollution from such vehicles by driving people out of them.
Land Rover have to get the next generation of engines bang on or they are in big trouble, let's hope they have done their research and when the ingenium comes on line it is bether than expected and with a decent and viable hybrid option.
So for me, I'm more than happy with this car, it has everything on it, still looks good and will keep me going for quite some time .

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

I'll have one next time round as the DS is the better car than the Freelander. But then again it should be!

I'll also put money on it that all those people who have slated it, will eventually be in a DS, then slate the facelift DS when that comes out.

Same old story, LR have lost there way, don't think of their current customer base, too expensive, blah blah blah

Sorry to all, but it gets boring when you hear the same old thing when a new car comes out, then everyone owns one anyway. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Off the top of my head on my PCP my HSE loses a tad over £5k a year on a 4yr contract. Purchase price just over £39k.

I am also looking into taking an entry level Disco SE. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Yes you pay deposit, fixed monthly payment plus the GMFV (guaranteed minimum future value) or take a new one or hand the car back.

Yep as good as 50%, these are just rough figures at the moment. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Are residual values out yet for leasing in the UK for the DS? For tax purposes leasing is an affordable route over here, but our dealer won't have an idea of residual numbers until April, our lease rate wil be different but the residual shouldn't be too different. An expat that never went home.

After 4 years its £17248 based on 32000mls car price £38690.

Its just a quotation, but been told at worst it will change by a £100 or so.

That will change though as I've added privacy glass since then. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Interested in the smaller vehicle due out in 2016? FL2 is bigger than I need really.

Interesting numbers and this level of depreciation reminds me why I have never bought a new car with my own money. This example represents 66p a mile before any other costs are incurred.

I have kept my cars until they die, or almost dead. Will keep this one till it dies, or I die!

If I was worried about depreciation I would have bought a bike. Although I would have bought an electric bike these days.

Next vehicle will be a mobility scooter. I definitely won't be in any state to worry about depreciation! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
