United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Indus Silver

Hi all, new to site and as it's a LR will be asking lots of questions. Very Happy

I have a few LRs including a 07 Freelander 2, 96 Defender, 96 Disco V8, and 03 RR Vouge. I'm a middling mechanic who does most things in the workshop but get flummoxed with some of the diagnostics. I much prefer the simplicity f the older stuff! Presently got issues with the wife's Freelander 2 which hopefully someone will be able to help with in the tech section.

Cheers!

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Hi all..

Been lurking but finally able to post here as today I picked up my Freelander. Its an 09 XS Auto.

I've gained lots of useful tips and info while lurking and reading. Looking forward to getting to know my freelander and making a few mods here and there. (Nothing crazy as this ones the family car!)

I'm no stranger to 4x4s or forums. I've had a Landcruiser and before that several Vitaras in various states of modding. This new one is my first foray into the world of the green oval though. Laughing

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

I'm only a few weeks ahead of you joining the forum and already benefited loads from advice and tips on here, and I am no mechanic... Cool

It seems a bit rich for a newbie to say welcome, though I am recommending this forum to a couple of friends who are also FL2 owners...

Enjoy! Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….
2009 Freelander 2 HSE... 155K miles, we’ve done 135k of those, has done brilliantly on the commute and staying firmly put as car two in the household
2002 Jaguar XK8 Coupe... fun, fast, ours for 12 years and owes us nothing - so staying with us too…

Welcome riverblanche, yes you'll have a bit more time on your hands over here in comparison to the D3/D4 forum. Laughing
I did the same move in 2014.

Good luck in your hunt for a FL2, they certainly are Land Rover's best kept secret. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Bali Blue

Hi, finally got around to joining this site. Bought my Freelander 2 a few years ago because I enjoyed driving my wife's one so much. 2 in the household makes life much easier! It's taken me a long time to get around to joining, but have at least been reading posts for years. Glad to finally give myself a kick up the bum and join.

2009 LR2

Hello, well after a year or so of searching for a reliable forum to discuss and resolve problems regarding my LR2, I’ve finally found this one! I bought my 2009 LR2 a year ago after wrecking my 2015 Jeep Patriot. It’s been a great driving vehicle. I’ve replaced the left rear wheel bearing and will be replacing the vacuum pump next weekend to resolve a leak that I’ve been trying to track down for about 9 months. Aside from some cracking around the airbag on the dash, it looks new. I’d like to address that issue at some point, so I’m open to any advice.

Hi, new member, had LR for thirty years and built many “projects “ but this is my first Freelander , I’ve Bought it at auction and paid a bit over the odds as it wasn’t issue free.... predictably 😀

But.... well it’s not bad to work on so far

Pity you couldn't get a proper colour..... white! You have got the most reliable LR product, & they are almost going up in value. Not that I bought mine for that reason! I'm keeping mine till I need a wheelchair! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Hi all, old owner but new to the forum.

Interesting that when registering for the forum the LE model version was not an option.

Have been having a good read through the pages of stuff and hoping to contribute in the future.

Hi all, just joined today and looking to get a freelander 2 in a week or 2 when I sell my porsche 911, already got a discovery 2 but will probably sell that 2 and just have 1 car, had a couple of freelander 1's in the past and really liked them, always had a land rover of some sort in the past 30 years, series 3, lightweight, FL1 disco 2 disco 4, the list goes on and on,
do a bit of shooting hence the need of a 4X4 but nothing extreme,
I will have more questions soon, but for now its just a quick Hi,
thanks.

Lee
