Just joined after being a guest for 2+ years. Still very pleased with the XS Auto. Toured Italy / Switzerland this year - ideal car. Trying to decide now about taking extended warranty one concern though it has been in to Stratstones for excessive noise from rear after 34K miles now at 40K and getting worse but no fault found. Sounds like rear hub bearings or diff. Any ideas?

get you FRONT wheel bearings checked out. I had convinced myself the sound was coming from the rear on my 09 XS and even feard transmission issues. It was the fronts at about 60k.

Been looking in the past and getting info on problems iv had on my FL1 have a FL2 now.

Having got rid of my Alaska White 2008 FL2 GS Manual in the summer after being fed up of paying for DMF/Clutch, useless WW warranty and then faced with a failing rear diff within 2 months, I decided I missed the FL2 too much.

All being well within the next 7-10 days I should be back into a Black 2010 FL2 HSE Auto

Have just joined having acquired my F2 2 days ago. Always liked Freelanders, even back in the days when they weren't all that reliable. Drove repmobiles for forty years, albeit some very nice ones, but only when I retired did I ha a real choice. First two cars were Subaru Foresters which were brilliant, including one mad Japanese import petrol turbo putting out about 240 BHP, BUT ONLY DOING 23 MPG, but a much admired car and many people would ask what it was and it would draw an audience outside the local motor factors, including staff. Next one was pretty ordinary, 2.0 NA auto with leather and sunroof, both Fossies would go wherever you wanted to go even in the worst of weather. Next came an E class Mercedes 280 sport estate with all the bells and whistles, great drive, but wouldn't pull a small boat up a gravelly slipway, so it had to go. No decent Fozzies on the second hand market in N Ireland, so took the plunge and bought an F2. Love the car, the more I drive it, the more I like it, except for two things, 33 mpg, which my 3L V6 Merc auto used to do, and I hoped for 40 MPG, never mind the promised 45 MPG promised by LR, and a crappy DAB radio that is tiny and at the same time blindingly bright at night.
Anyone any comments about MPG or a fix for the radio display?.

Got my 08 i6 HSE yesterday. Very happy so far. I've already used this site to diagnose the AC drain pipe issue. (I have items to add, will do that next).

Hoping I've made the right decision.
Traded in my 2005 X-Trail 2.2 DCiSVE for a 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS.
We only saw the car on the dealers forecourt in passing and popped in for a look.
