Hi Everbody... I have at last found the true believers! Naaa not religion, but someone that actually believes in the Freelander virtues! Recently bought one, love it, and hooked up with the Australian Landrover site. Hmmm too hard core. Unless it has a transfer case and weighs at least 2 tons they dont want to talk to us mere freelanders.  Current other drive 06 Falcon Styleside Ute (very aussie) Recently departed: 08 Touareg 3lt td. Grunty fun but kept losing small cars and families behind the big arse mirrors. Also my wife hated parking it.

I think you'll find 2 tons just sink in the sand quicker.  Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

tell them to grow up,and learn how to drive. with the correct driver a freel will go most places and if it does get stuck it will take a lot less recovering than the old fashioned heavy cars At work

I am am looking to purchase a FL2 this year, I was looking to purchase a used 57/08 plate SE/HSE end part of last year but the second hand car prices just rocketed around December time, I have now decided to wait and save the extra to buy a new FL2 around July as I get 15% off with the Preferred Supplier Scheme.

It looks like I will only be able to push for the XS which looks like the same spec as the 57/08 SE.

I have been looking at all the SUV,s on the market but the FL2 seems to tick all the boxes the only thing that has put a bit of a downer on it has been a few posts I have read on here about some that are having wheel wobble and the Bambi On Ice thread worrys me a bit because I would expect to feel confident in snow poor conditions, I guess the choice of tyres is of most importance.

How have you other FL2 owners got on in the recent snowy/slippery conditions?

Welcome to the forum. I had a Disco TD5 before my Freel 2 and in the snow I felt the Freel 2 well out performed my old TD5, as for the wheel wobble I would not let that worry you, only a handful of these reports have surfaced when you put that against the thousands of Freel 2's that have been sold it will come out at less than .01% p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

people always post bad news on forums so dont let a few scary threads put you off. my car performed very well in the snow/ice, I have driven 4x4's for decades so know what I am talking about. tyre choice make the biggest difference At work

Unlike many of the members here I have absolutely no experience of driving in the snow, with recent snow falls of up to 12 inches it just ploughed it's way through

Thanks guys that has put my concerns to bed.

It is a big amount of money to just spend without at least listening to current owners views.

I know I am a newbie on this forum as I have owned the FL2 for only a couple of weeks, but I have been on a few car forums over the years and I thought I could express my opinion if I may.

I need to tread carefully here so as not to upset anyone's views, but to be honest a lot of people actually search for forums on the net only when their car develops a problem (I am in no way saying that is the case with anyone on here).

A lot of these concerns may be valid for sure but very few people will post on a forum saying how much they love the car and that its problem free.

Not having had my FL2 when it was actually snowing I cannot comment on the tyre issues but having read through a few reviews I can say the FL2 should be okay to say the least in wintry conditions.
