engine/gearbox noise

Last post for today Smile

Ever since I've had my car there has been a noise as the auto box changes up from 2nd to 3rd and possibly 3rd to 4th. It sounds like a woosh of air (strange I know). On one service I was told a clip that holds the turbo pipe on was loose and was tightened. The noise is still there. When I control the gear changes I can't hear it. Any ideas? Thanks

I may be wrong but I am sure that I have read on here that it is the turbo that makes the noise

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Barolo Black

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have been searching the forums today to get to the bottom of noise issue on my FL2. This thread came up first and my symptoms were excatly as the OP has described. While searching online, my local garage rang to say they'd found the cause soon as thay had it on the lift and it turned out to be a spilt turbo hose from the turbo to the throttle. £104 all fixed.

There are some other posts mentioning the same fault and I'm grateful for those posts, but just thought I'd add it on here in case anybody else has a similar noise in the future.

The cam belts are being done in March this year, so will probably get other hoses inspected at the same time. This hose was sourced by my garage from a local LR dealer, but wondered whether their are any good/cheaper alternatives for suitable hoses if I need more in the future?

regards
colin
