Hi Guys, not a FL2 owner at the mo but I want one with sat nav, that is second hand of course. I have found that this can only be achieved by getting one with a sliding roof. My experience in the past has told me not get one without a solid roof because sun roof rooves tended to be more of a water feature. The dealers have tried to convince me that was in the past with Disco 1s and 2s.

Now I know I will get an honest answer here from you experienced people and you have no reason not to tell me how it is.

Later models had sat nav on the XS model without the glass roof. Don't know if the older SE model had sat nav without the glass roof, I'm sure someone on here will know.

Mine's a 2008 model. Satnav still works fine and there have been no leaks.

I have an 08 SE with sat nav and sun roof. There have not been that many posts re sun roof troubles over the past two years or so. As I remember, there was one with shattered glass and maybe one or two with drain tube blockage. Not a significant problem so far. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

08 FL2 TD4 SE Manual in Rimini Red (Now Gone)

The design is made in that way that even if the drainage is blocked, if the car is level, there will be no leak and/or water ingress.
Just examine it in more detail and you'll see...

So, basically two of them have leaked. Ooh, I'd stay well away from a car with a sunroof in that case. And ones with engines and gearboxes and wheel bearings and brakes and steering because using the same argument, they'll all go wrong at some point in their life.

Just joking! I do think that saying they will all leak during their lifetime is a bit misleading. Sure, they CAN leak but then so could dozens of other things go wrong on cars. Not a major thing to get fixed though in the rare event that it would happen.
