Nope, not here, I get better economy on the motorway journeys with sport mode, around town in traffic, I just leave it in D.
Of course, country lanes are usually better in sport, depends on the day and how I feel really.

Put mine in sport mode once since I've had it, and that was just to see the difference with the acceleration Wink BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Is the economy difference significant? I'm lazy and stay in D virtually all the time. It seems counterintuitive that the 'more performance' mode should deliver better economy on motorway runs but I guess there are some complex programs managing the fuelling and gear change that make it better at a constant higher speed. I'll have to give it a try..... 2012 SD4 XS Santorini Black

I've got the manual at the moment, but when I had the auto I didn't use it much just if I wanted a quick getaway from junctions or lights. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

On the FL1 I often used the sport mode but never found the need on the FL2 Very Happy

Think SteveC is the odd one out.....only use sport mode when need it like for overtaking - not that is slow anyway in normal mode

sometimes on hills, at lowish speeds, sometimes the auto box can't make its mind up as to the right gear for the situation, sport mode helps. ...

I find it Sport mode is a little more lively, but not really experimented that much.

you can get into top gear on the motorway at less revs if you nudge it up through the auto command , it will do it itself eventually, manually is just a little way of showing the car who pays for the fuel At work

My gearbox has started feeling wobbly when in a high gear under load and almost changing down but not quite. Sport mode now makes it drive better by changing down earlier.
