The car is intended to be used off-road and I'm sure LR have taken that into account when setting up the airbags. Certainly I've never heard of a Freelander with airbags which have gone off when they should not have done. |

it might be best to speak with LR over the setting, i don't think banging down on a rut will set the air bags off, but i recall a LR having a roll sensor which will deploy the side bags when your past the point of no return

If you're sure about that, just pull F2 fuse at the passenger feet fuse box. That's all.

It takes a real hard knock to deploy the airbag/seat belt reel inertia system. It's unlikely that they will fire during normal off road use.

Remember that by pulling the fuse your seat belt tensioners will not work also, should you hit something or roll it would be nice if you were tightly strapped in. Believe the steering column collapse actuator would be disabled as well so a crushed ribcage is all that might happen. |

Seat belts have a pure mechanical lock too.
