Turning off air bags

hello
Is there a way to turn all air bags off ?
I use my car off road regally and after a couple off hard bangs etc I,am
Concerned I might set off the air bags off

No easy way that I know and LR like other manufacturers would be failing in their duty if an easy option was provided.

The car is intended to be used off-road and I'm sure LR have taken that into account when setting up the airbags. Certainly I've never heard of a Freelander with airbags which have gone off when they should not have done.

it might be best to speak with LR over the setting, i don't think banging down on a rut will set the air bags off, but i recall a LR having a roll sensor which will deploy the side bags when your past the point of no return

Maybe using the mud and ruts TR setting adjust it, i don't know I'm just guessing

Though LR won't tell you how to turn them off, bar the passenger air bag, as they will be opening themselves up to you suing them if you were injured

they might be able to say what sort of scenarios your safe in Idea Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If you're sure about that, just pull F2 fuse at the passenger feet fuse box. That's all.
Some errors will appear on display, but no pirotechnic device will fire in an unfortunate event.

It takes a real hard knock to deploy the airbag/seat belt reel inertia system. It's unlikely that they will fire during normal off road use.
If the knock is hard enough to deploy the SRS system, then you'd probably want it to for your own safely.
Should you hit a tree at 30 mph or roll the car, do you really want the SRS turned off? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Remember that by pulling the fuse your seat belt tensioners will not work also, should you hit something or roll it would be nice if you were tightly strapped in. Believe the steering column collapse actuator would be disabled as well so a crushed ribcage is all that might happen.

Seat belts have a pure mechanical lock too.
Try to put the car nose down about 20-30 degrees, with the belts on, and try to extend them.
You wont be able...
So in case of roll-over, the seat belts will remain tensioned and you strapped in.

I will pull the fuse next time I am at the pay & play
Last time At the top off I hill I beached the car so hard both sill dented plastic covers popped off
Quite a bump how the air bags did not go off I don't know

I suspect you're being overcautious - it's a Land Rover, it's supposed to do that sort of thing.

Have a look at the owners manual too, that says something along the lines that the airbags are designed to go off in the event of hard frontal and side impacts, and that rear impacts, ruts, etc won't set them off. I seem to recall it goes on to observe that you can do a considerable amount of damage to the car without them triggering! Have a look - it might put your mind at rest.

Personally I'd rather have them on, just in case they were really needed.

Agreed pab,
If you knew just how hard an impact it took to deploy the SRS, you wouldn't worry about going off road with a few bumps here and there. It's a real hard shunt before the firing circuit becomes active. Mostly, it works using deceleration; in milliseconds. Bit like hitting a brick wall at 15mph or so.
The SRS is designed to prevent serious injury or even death to yourself and your passengers.
It's a very dangerous risk to disable it, almost foolish sorry to say.
If it happened, could you live with it?

Well i,am only talking about off road, no passengers
And I would feel better knowing there not going off when I muck up
