Welcome to the forum,

I'm by no means the smart one when it comes to stuff like this but have the garages found any fault codes been stored?

I presume they would have looked, Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi yea they found 9 fault codes, i do not have them with me as im away till mon, i will put them on the garages said it could be a number of things but dont know were to start , they said the first thing there gona try is a fuel filter, i think its more electrical but i know nothin so i just have to go with what they say ,if its not that there gona try the fuel pressure sensor or somethin like that, i cant remember exacly what they said, they baffold me with all these different things that could be wrong with it, all i know is its startin to cost and not sure when it will end or even if they know whats wrong there just gona keep tryin different things

If the engine will rev freely up to 4000 when you are not moving, but gives you the problems you describe when under load, ie driving, then I would suspect a fuel problem and the fuel filter is a good place to start. Do you know when the filter was last changed? If it's over three years ago and the car has done a few miles it could well be the problem.

Hi thanks that is exactly what happens , it revs normal unless im driving then if i accelerate hard it sometimes does it but mostly at 4000 rpm its done 100000 mile, i had it serviced at landrover all the time but they have never mentioned puttin a filter on , if it not that is the next step the fuel pressure sensor

If you have used LR main dealers then the filter was probably changed as per the schedule - but it could still be the problem and well worth a look. Have you run the tank very low on fuel or even run out as that could result in crap getting picked up and fed into the filter - just a thought -good luck.

If the car has 100k miles and happens only on hard acceleration, in my opinion, could also be a "limp mode" caused by too much pressure in the intake system. If that is the case, the suspect is the variable geometry from turbo, which could be stuck because of the carbon deposits on its variable vanes.

Try to put here the error codes and we will try to interpret them...

P0045 turbo/supercharge boost control solenoid open circut
P0087 fuel rail pressure too low
P0113 air intake temp sensor
P1259 immobilizer to powertrain control module signal error
P2564 turbo charger boost control position sensor a
P2290 injector control pressure too low
These are the codes and faults found from the auto elec ,since i last spoke on ere i have been towed home by aa and they said it is a fuel pressure sensor but not sure which one. it was only happening at 4000 but now seems to be getting worse.they also asked when the fuel filter was last changed because it could be that

Some of the errors, I believe, are not related to what happens to you.
I would erase the fault codes and drive the car. After it happens again, re-read the errors and see who appears.
Anyway, here is a short description of relevant error codes:

P0045-13 Turbo charger actuator power stage output 2 circuit - open
P0045-18 Power stage temperature dependant current limitation
P0045-19 Turbo charger actuator power stage output 1 circuit - over current

P0087 Rail pressure below minimum. Check for fuel leakage in high pressure section, injector nozzle stuck open, worn high pressure pump. Check for leakage/blockage in low pressure section.

P0113 Intake air temperature sensor - circuit voltage above limit. Check the circuit following circuit diagrams.

P2564 Turbo charger boost control position sensor A circuit - short to ground, power or open circuit. Turbo charger boost control position sensor failure.

P2290 Maximum positive rail pressure deviation detected. Check for fuel leaks, worn pump/injector, leaking pressure limiting valve in high pressure side

As I've said, I would erase the codes, create the conditions for the fault to happen again and read the errors again.
If indeed the errors that could be generated by a blocked fuel filter (among others) appear (P0087, P2290), then changing the filter will be a piece of cake (from cost point of view) besides the costs that could arise from changing other components of the high pressure fuel system....

Great news for you! Thumbs Up
You should still keep an eye for those P0045 and P2564... They normally shouldn't appear...
But the age/miles are in the right zone for them... Just like osteoporosis for an old lady. Laughing

I am curious, still...
How old was that filter that it became a real blockage in the fuel path Question Shocked ....
