aerial

MY09 GS, ChrisC states his radio aerial is connected on the car offside and I have seen another post indicating this, with the nearside aerial unconnected. On mine the nearside is unconnected but the offside connected.
There seems to be no wires in the head liner on the nearside. I wonder why there is a difference between cars and why is an" in glass" aerial fitted to one side then not used. My radio works OK. Does anyone have specific information on this offside / nearside difference.

Thanks pab that would be a logical reason as I don't had a DAB radio fitted. I have seen a few other suggestions before I posted this but discounted them Cheers
