Last night we drove through the (pretty impressive) floods on the roads through Salisbury Plain, which I wouldn't have been able to do in the Passat.

I too have just been out exploring the local floods. The deepest I dared take it through was showing just under 2 ft on the depth gauge (probably 1'9 or so) but it sure as hell felt a lot deeper

Had a quick dash to Lakeside this morning to pick up some last minute bits and the lanes were flooded. Went though quite a deep puddle - probably 18" - while others gad to go round. No problem apart from it must have given my parking sensors a soaking so all I get is one long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep when I hit reverse. Sometimes does it in heavy rain so I know it will clear in a few hours. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

I've been out in the car today... moved it forward all of about half a foot so I can squeeze another car into the driveway. She is blocked in and going no where

Lovely weather, so spent the morning cleaning it inside and out, checked all levels and tyre pressures. Still lovely in the afternoon, so loaded up along with my wife, baby daughter and her grandpa headed off to Millets Farm Centre. Not many animals around yet, but baby daughter enjoyed toddling about, seeing and saying 'Geese', the swings and a nice cup of tea and slice of cake. |

At the moment I am cleaning up my rural block about 100ks out of Darwin and have been carting scrap steel to the scrapies yard ,the road is a mixture of dirt, gravel and dual carrige way with creek crossings that have been about 350 mm deep along the gravel sections .I am towing a 6ftx10ft tandem trailer and the GCM (gross combined mass) has been about 2/3 hundred kilo under the max which is 4500 for the FL2 here in Aus , that did not include the missus, dogs or beer . also use it for carting hay and towing the camper on extended camping trips through the outback .

Today I found out that the tow bar fitted to the vehicle when I bought it didn't even have the brake wire connected to anything..... relay required according to threads on here, thanks as they'll be mighty helpful

Another day spent in the Cornish countryside traversing fields and farm tracks. Took on a good steep forest track now that she is shod in new General Grabber AT's. They are working well.
