I will be happy to post
I have a 2010, diesel manual GS. I havent had any problems at all with the car, as you would expect from one that is so young. I had a defender prior to this as an everyday car.
I can safely say that there is nothing in this part of sweden that I got through in my defender, that I havent got through in the freelander on any of my adventures - unless you are looking for a rock crawler, forget anything more than this, and even so, the defender will need a suspension lift and difflocks, it is no more cabaple than this car, with exception to the extra ground clearance on the sills. In fact, the TC has proved that it is actually better than my standard defender in most situations when difflock is really needed.
The fuel costs are half of what they used to be and I can actually have a conversation in the car. The level of comfort I now have is a joy, and after mouthing off how brilliant my car was all over the swedish landrover forums, you can say I was happy to outdrive defenders at an offroad event and bring substance to the party. "you must be a talented driver" I hear the skeptics and defender owners say... Nah.. I put my passenger in the driver seat for his first offroad session ever, and he did exactly the same.
I just love the looks of envy from all the quashqai, touran and even subaru guys at the traffic lights as you can see they know they made the wrong decision... I love throwing my car keys down in front of people with the keyring always facing upwards, and I love giving people a lift for the first time and hear them say that it is a really comfy car, and I love saving all the neighbours from the nightmare snowdrits that we get in the winter.
would I change up to a Disco? haha... nope, they cost too much to fill up, break too often. Would I make the same choice again after selling my defender? - of course.
