Just returned from a fishing trip in South Ayrshire which, unlike most of the UK, has experienced a constant deluge of rain. Most of the roads and lanes around Colmonell and Ballantrae were awash and the splash from the puddles coming onto the windscreen had to be seen to be believed.

The day I brought mine home my neighbour, who's an agricultural worker, took one look at the spats and said that they'd be the first thing to ground out and break either themselves, or the front bumper |

Seems you need a vehicle with say adjustable ride height (from air suspension maybe?) and built in front spats.
