I don't profess to know all about sand mode but I think it sharpens throttle response and alters traction control setup so that it puts the power down very quickly. It also engages 50:50 power split LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The only place I've used sand mode is when I've actually been in soft beach sand, but it was still pretty quick! CAR HISTORY

I presume command shift makes more of it than a manual box as you just select 1st gear and then just bump the lever up through the "sports ratios" until the next set of lights and stationery traffic is looming large and your bottle goes ...... 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
