I would love a snow blower (more toys Smile ), but it really doesn't happen often enough to justify the expense. And I'm fortunate in that I work from home most of the time anyway, so being stuck for a few days isn't a problem.

It's great stuff, so I have been told particularly when stuck on an icy hill Wink - had a can for several years in the boot, just in case, but never had to use it and neither will any Freely with proper winter tyres need it either I suspect Thumbs Up 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

Andy, I have proper winter tyres (Avon Ranger Ice, highly regarded in these parts), but with a steep slope and a foot of snow I'm still stuck! Winter tyres are good, but can only do so much.

But if you mean studded tyres, they're illegal over here, so not an option.

The most adherent thing to snow is... snow.
Those many "cracks" in winter tires are made, among other things, for retaining small amounts of snow on the tire.
This product could do the same. "Glue" the snow on the tire...

We were discussing this Winter Tyre grip in the office as one guy has a BMW 330 with summer tyres which is absolutely useless in the snow. He can't even get snow socks on as there is not enough room between the wheelarch and the tyre so he is looking for something incase he gets stuck, at the moment his best solution is a bit of old carpet.

We thought this Winter Tyre Grip was probably just snake oil but I spotted a couple of people advertising it as 'as used by the AA and other recovery services'. I thought that was probably rubbish, couldn't find any mention of it on the AA website so I emailed them to see if they did use it. Suprisingly the reply I got back was:

"Our technical department has replied to your query about Winter Tyre Grip as follows:

Our patrols are issued with this product and although we were initially sceptical we've been pleased with the results.

It only lasts for a relatively short distance but we've found it useful for getting out of trouble."

Shocked

If he gets some, gets stuck and it gets him out of trouble I'll report back.
