i just watched the video, seemed to use higher revs in the no grip version, obviously lost traction due to it

saw it on tomorrows world years ago they sprayed it on the tyres of an escort i think and drove it round an ice rink it worked really well but obviously only as a temporary measure. |

Dont think i would use it considering the cost of rubber for the Freelander,im sure it will say it wont harm tyres but in scepitcal. |

Maybe I should get some - terrain response, winter tyres, and I'm still snowed in! Tried to get up my drive again yesterday and made about half a dozen yards before sliding back down again. Interestingly it was the terrain response which ultimately stopped me - it seemed to be reducing power / applying the brakes until the car just ground to a halt. No discernable wheelspin at all, and until that point I was still making progress. I'd have tried again without TR, but the rate I slipped back convinced me that I didn't want to risk doing that from any higher up the slope! |

Turn off DSC and try it, that is what is killing the power |

You probably know this anyway but DSC should be turned off in a lot of difficult start/slow speed situations and switched back on ASP.

Yep, I do know the DSC trick - but given how slippery it really was, and given the very solid stone house at the bottom of the slope, I decided to play it safe

Thanks CG - I've actually got a few bags in the garage, but I'd need to clear 70-ish yards of a good foot of snow to get out, and that would take a lorry load! Fortunately the village is less than a mile away, so I can easily walk up if we run out of anything vital. After 15 years we're used to this! |
