New LED down lights arrived today and wired one up

Very impressed, but can't wire them all myself and will need a sparky now

It's not that I can't do it? But need a part P certificate as part of the warranty registering Evil or Very Mad no point in throwing away 10 years warranty I suppose, especially when my cheap led don't last that long Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

just fitted these to replace old style fluorescent tubes in a boxed in beam over our dining/playroom.

16 ft of tubes replace by 4.4 meters of these in 4 fittings, brighter than it was and no buzzing

good price and no transformer needed easiest install ever.
dropped from 250w to 72w and no need to put the extra wall lights on also.

not pretty things so need to be hidden in alcoves etc

LEDs have come on a lot over the past few years, wouldn't use anything else now as there is so much choice with fittings and types/colour of light.

I have fitted hundreds of these lamps in the past 4 years, they have a very low failure rate and good colour definition.

Not only light bulbs, just changed from a plasma screen tv to an LED one and saved 200 watts.

electricity prices are falling, led fittings have to be cheap now in order to make a real saving

dont forget the extra wattage normally leaks out as heat saving your heating bill

I looked at the leccy saving going down from a 50" plasma to an LED not a huge savings but yes its a saving.

I like the plasma due to the glass screen, more kid safe than 'soft' lcd or led. a couple of scratches on the glass are proof of the impacts
or are all tv's glass now? At work

You get a nice warm glow radiating from the plasma! It's a Panasonic, cracking picture Gromit. Thumbs Up 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I have a Panasonic plasma, I think the picture is more life like when compared to LED screens.

Agreed! Also I don't bother with HD channels. The upscaling of the Panny looks just as good to me. .....Or is it my eyes? Shocked
