lie down on the roof flat (depends on garage roof height i guess) but should give you enough space to get to the passenger side door lock even if close to the wall? Sophie Alltoft

Censored just realised that wont help if you still need to get in and put the key in the ignition to wake the car because it only unlocks the passenger door Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Spot on muddy wheels.

The Landrover assist said it has caused real problems in the past and he had one parked on a deep gravel drive under a car port tight against a wall and the only resolve was to break a window eventually ! Big Cry

Also need to ensure car is double locked to enable the volumetric/perimetric alarm is enabled.

I always double lock to reduce the chance of the battery issue.

I have never owned a car with so many quirks ! Do landrover actually ever use and drive these things themselves or do they all own more reliable cars ?

Will double locking to activate internal sensors so you can trigger the alarm next time help or does the alarm deactivate when in sleep mode - which would be worrying to say the least Confused

Edit - posted same time as you so apparently not Embarassed

This is crazy - mine is keyless entry/ignition so need to read my handbook to see how I would wake mine if this happens to me Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Try activating the tilt device, it may awaken the car.
Or it may alarm until the battery's flat Embarassed

This FR2 is just one big white elephant ! its junk the worst thing I have ever owned.
Landrover had the opportunity too help me out to purchase another but 17 k to change at 2 years old at 14000 miles and just 2k offer towards the change isn't what I call an offer for such a troublesome car
so just remember for those of you who are lucky enough to have a trouble free one good luck but when the chips are down your on your own " up a creek without a paddle " with landrover.

I am guessing that if oldgeezer jacked it up in the past and slid the car over that the tilt alarm did not work either - what a nightmare Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

The only thing that makes the alarm go off is unlocking the passenger door with the manual key ! not much good when you cant open the door.

The alarm doesn't go off when its jacked up and tugged about

It wouldn't surprise me if the alarms never been configured to the BCM ! I had been complaining for three years about the air bag light and finally they discovered the crash sensors were not configured ! yet another one of those random issues ! and all i ever got was " its a characteristic of the car & we cant find any faults "

The lists of faults issues and visits to the dealers extend over 6 pages of A4. Sadly the text box wont allow that much print ! so no one appreciates just how bad it can get ! and how when the chips are down you just get let down

Oldgeezer - as you know I have shared your experiences of LRCS and Censored Lr dealers courtesy of my RRS this year Evil or Very Mad

It does not help you but both my previous FL2's were faultless and my friend has had 2 without problems also - you have been very unlucky and I am really sorry to hear that you are still having problems Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

"Sleep Mode" is just a way of saying the car is shut down and using minimum power from the battery. It happens whether or not you leave it unlocked, single locked or double locked, only the time taken for the car to achieve a full shut down changes. The alarm still works, or should work. Try jacking it up, that should set off the alarm and maybe wake it up.

Don't rip my head off for this suggestion BUT are you sure the FOBS are working? Try holding a fob as near as possible to the sensor, which I believe is in the roof where the central light is located.

Finally, if all else fails you may have to get some heavy trolley jacks under front and rear and pull it away so that someone can get in using the passenger door.

Now this will really annoy you, sorry, but your car is obviously a rouge, they exist for all makes but thankfully are rare. My car has never seen a dealer except for a service, Neither have any of my friends FR2s. I know that doesn't help but we need some balance. Having said that you do deserve a good rant.

yeah the fobs are fine I alternate them as well so they both get charged when driving.

The tilt alarm does not go off when its jacked up to move it.
Its not easy moving it on a jack and the front always swings close to the wall when jacking up.
when it goes to sleep the fobs do not work and setting the alarm off by unlocking the passenger door doesn't wake it up either. As soon as the fob is inserted it wakes up and fires up.

I like to have a rant about the piece of junk so others understand what happens when the chips are down and as Landrover showed no interest in any of the faults from brand-new and just to be told continually its a characteristic gets my goat !

Back to the serious note may be we need to find another way of waking these things up ! it could catch any of you out even if its just parked at an airport " if the passenger door is by a pillar and it goes to sleep your stuffed."

It may well be that the receiver module in the roof has gone kaput, in which case the fobs will have no effect at all, a window looks to be the final answer.

It also amazes me that sponsors on here have no input on this, they have the ability to speak to their workshop who can also speak direct to LR for technical advice.
