Formula One - Rubbish

Here is a screenshot of the race after an hour, very little racing taking place, it is nothing more than a procession and people pay a fortune to see this.
I used to defend F1 but these days its dire, the other channel is even worse, Tennis ffs, thats not even a sport its a pastime Laughing

But the cycle racing (Tour de Frog) was brill. Only thing I ever watch on ITV. Yesterday's result was
1 Union Jack
2 Union Jack with some tatty Australian bits attached
3 Union Jack

Today's race was very close all the way - young Frenchman won but Brit Wiggins still in overall lead.
And it even has the spectacular crashes that everyone secretly watches F1 for!
Tomorrow is a time trial, so not so thrilling, Tuesday rest day, starts up again on Weds!

Agree with Pegleg, watch bikes, BBC for Moto GP and Cal Crutchlow the pride of Coventry is making big inroads on satellite machinery ( Crutchlow re-defined hard the other week racing with broken ankles! )
Eurosport for British and World Superbikes, Eurosport have the best commentators in the business James Whittam and Jack Burnicle, they are great . in World Superbikes there are a whole bunch of young Brits . You get real racing, overtakes, shoulder to shoulder contact , crashing is part of trying hard , and speeds up to 200mph. real mans stuff Thumbs Up 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

Yeah its a shame that its gone this far, bring back terrible downforce, ditch tyre regulations and allow turbos.. if these guys are getting paid danger money, make them earn it : )

I stopped watching halfway through last season.. its a real shame because everyone pretty much knew to not even bother calling me while the race was on every other sunday : (

I dunno. Last nights race was a little dull compared with the rest of this seasons races but still entertaining. I managed to stay awake watching it, which is no easy task Smile 1st time FL2 owner. 2007 SE i6 in Tambora Flame.

I stopped showing any interest when they ditched the clutch pedal. It's part of driving isn't it?
Now they can change engine ECU mapping on the fly. What's the two way radio all about?. Come in no5 your time is up cos you've been using too much fuel? Hard luck mate, you should just grind to a stop.
DRS? Yeah, I know what it is. Crap.
Some bloke sitting in the dry decides when it's too wet. Why can't the drivers to that?
Is it racing anymore?
How much more help do these drivers need?

F1 could learn a lot from bikes, keep it raw for thrills and spills.
It's not a sport anymore, it's a money making circus.
And very boring. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Granted silver stone isn't the greatest circuit to go and watch things as being an airfield it is very flat and so you can only ever see the corner you are standing on... Even so I bet the atmosphere is fantastic! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Pegleg - thing about F1 is that it is not just about the man behind the wheel - it is very much a team sport and a demonstration of bleeding edge technology that more often than not gives us a snapshot of regular cars of the future...

They tried the whole driver competing in equal cars thing with A1 and it failed miserably.

F1 did go through a very boring spell a few years ago but if you ask me it has been the most exciting for a long while...

And as for all the two way radio The telemetry and all the tactical stops etc I just think makes it all the more interesting Razz

I admit it is nice to see raw talent just drive but then I would just go and see a hill climb or banger racing!! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints
