Wales 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Not so sure about snapshot of the future. Airbags ABS and fuel injection were used years before F1. Crash testing is a very different ball game for a family saloon and a single seat F1.

As long as you enjoy F1, that's fine Thumbs Up

I used to enjoy it, still watch it, but I fear it's lost it's way for pure racing. When telemetry means the difference of winning or not, I'm afraid it's almost sad.

And it's still very boring. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

I wouldn't exactly say it was rubbish but it has got a little stale.
When comes down to innovation, it seems to have taken a turn for the worse since in-season testing was banned. Now the changes on the cars (bar the safety aspects with the nose cones) comes down to things like tiny little vanes in front of the rear wheels to direct airflow, or holes behind the exhausts.

We've lost a lot of the truly innovative changes, like active suspension, placement of engines, six wheels etc. Just look at the difference that was made when they realised a mid-engined car was far better balanced.

This animation explains a lot http://vimeo.com/43233380 very little changes since 1990 apart from rear wings! 2008 FL2 TD4 XS Zermatt Silver, Manual
