looking in to hitch my self to a swift challenger Sport 636, Twin Axle

few foot longer than my 'van, but with twice as much wardrobe space, but need to get a 4wd mover and another £1600 awning too, so the extras are shooting the price up, but the cost to change isn't too bad at the moment Thumbs Up

You will need to careful with that, TA very desirable by certain sections of the community, I've had one go missing in the night, i would would be concerned if I had a TA it would vanish also. Awnings Twisted Evil Last one I bought only used it once, will have to get it on the bay, along with a Porch Awning Rolling Eyes stopped buying awnings now, just the two of us so we can now get by with Caravanstor Zip, easy life. I'm always careful since my van was tried to be stolen when it was new, never leave the car and van alone when stopping at services, and keep it at a gold secure site

We like the extra space the awning gives so the kids have somewhere to escape to to play with their toys, staying with Isabella though, as we didn't like our old dorema or bradcots

Going to concider a Isabella sun canopy also which can have side attached also

TA? Far too many associations with p Censored ys for me. Awful when towing too - too much pitching. Also, unwelcome in French campsites for same p Censored y reasons. They expect you to have a white van too. But in your case, pinky, you are nearly there! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I followed a fl2 sd4 over hard knot and rynose a few days ago, We stopped in Eskdale and the poor fl2's brakes stank to high heaven, the 'sports' brakes were described as warm. At work

TA means twin axle so width the same, i think you were thinking of twin wheeled like the back of a heavy duty pickup truck. Thumbs Up

1.keep it that way Thumbs Up
2. a vain attempt to make the van stable at speeds over 40 mph. basically a friction damper at the tow ball to counter the big, wide aerodynamically blunt caravans natural tendency to sway and rock ,sometimes violently.

the more sensible solution would be to lower the roof and add weight to the lower parts of the caravan (then build a low wall around it plant some shrubs, build a path?)

3. Yes At work

Should have said ALKO ATC Stabiliser system, which is a electronic system which applies brakes when it sways left to right, to straighten it back up, this is along with the Alko friction based towball hitch

It also has shock absorbers on each wheel also, so in therory should be more stable than my current van I tow
