Had a similar problem on a Peugeot 307 it was a split pipe which works the turbo actuator the small diameter ones,used to rev the car hard and it would cut out.Turn ignition off then restart all ok

If its the flange type of tow ball as shown by Eyorkshire then the correct ball/neck is important with the Alko hitch
if its the normal type of detachable tow bar then clearance will not be a problem ...

I have read that the 40mph for HGV on single carriageway is up for review beginning of next year raising up to 50mph
Which will hopefully stop the idiots in cars overtaking in crazy places

Its 1678kg and it tows like a dream
It has an alko hitch and alko atc so even at motorway speeds passing HGV's its perfectly stable
Have to be careful when reversing with the tall gearing but apart ...

It happened to me a few weeks ago took the door card off and found the cable had become unclipped so just a matter of lining up and re clipping very easy job
