I agree.
Problem is that (dark/black) smoke from a diesel engine is caused by poor combustion, and on the common rail fuel system, that probably means wear on the high pressure fuel pump. ...

Dave,
You are sadly mistaken ifyou believe what you have written.
It takes a long time to recognise that your fuel system is being lubricated correctly.
You obviously have not got the time for this ...

There has been much written on this subject by Yamaha Fan, and it should be remembered.
The oil quality that most of you are suggesting to use on this FL2 engine does not meet the standard now requir ...

myf,
Hot engines usually make peculiar noises when they are cooling, but how loud is this 'ticking'? Do you know where it is from with the bonnet open?

You mention that you also have some steering lock problems.
If so, then you need to take this up with your dealer immediately.
The steering lock mechanism has a connection with the fuel isola ...

I do believe that LR were a wee bit optimistic in their initial figures for fuel consumption when they first issued them. It is pretty obvious to us all that they were over-estimated.

You should only need a recharge of refrigerant if you are unlucky enough to experience a gas leak.
Let's face it; how many of us recharge our domestic refrigerators and freezers?

Any unusual noises from the turbo department may derive from a simple explanation... or an expensive one. For me, if you can hear a different tone from there, then i would suggest that some ...

Mojo, there should never be any black smoke from the FL2 engine, because it is an indication of poor combustion, either from too little air or too much fuel. Black smoke is in fact fuel that has not f ...
