 Satnav Initialisation problem

Update:
Got a used navigation unit (not the screen) fitted it and it works perfectly. For some reason it won’t let me update the maps, but it works ok.

I looked in the secret menu and didn’t find any reset of the nav system. Not tried disconnecting the battery etc yet.

So what does fitting a new module do? will it allow newer phones to connect? or will it allow streaming music like in a later FL2 HSE?

It's been main dealer serviced regularly, but still on the original clutch, steering pump etc.
It recently had a new rear diff, and has had a couple of rear wiper motors and a tailgate switch.
 Wheel Bearing Advice - Job Done ;-) !!
