Interesting topic. The EPB operates a solenoid onto one end of the Brake Pads, The FFRR has rear Shoes that need bedding in. Using the FL2 foot brake beds the pads in. I have had it all apart, and its ...

When I swapped our 2008 FL2 to a 2010 engine, I never really registered swirl flaps. I swapped engine looms so that the later engine uses every sensor and the original ecu from the 2008 car. No fault ...

Hi, Jules. I used to use, like many people, a Henly Solon 15watt iron many years ago, sadly now obsolete. A useful tip for circuit boards is to cut each tag on the components one wants to remove on th ...

Charging voltage is at the bottom end, but Ok. The reason I said cranking voltage is that an apparent good battery can, under load, give a fairly low cranking voltage when drawing, perhaps four hundre ...

Too low. I find that I have to take out the battery and put it on a refreshing charger for the weekend every few months to achieve 12.9 volts. Calcium batteries do not go as high as a good Lead Acid b ...

Not really, although I find the fuel gauges tend to drop rather fast when just below half a tank. I suggest that, as the cars age, oldest now eighteen years old, the rubber pips will slowly get porous ...

My local specialist only fits genuine parts, unless I supply him with them if I can get a better deal. I normally use Rimmers, LRParts, or Maltings 4x4. Paddock are not so competive now, and Craddock ...

Satire, just the current electric car jokes. You are right, of course, in fact they are so badly promoted, that people do not know you have to change the anti-freeze in the battery cooling system, eit ...

That's useful information, Jules. I was wondering if one has mount and unmount the USB stick like happens with Apple's software, to make it recognise that the USB is there. There are more than one USB ...

The battery voltage is a contentious issue on FL2's. My daughters 2009 model was running on a fairly new No.72 battery, and showed a glow plug fault on starting, and 11.2 volts. I replaced with a full ...

If you change the glow plugs, do them all. Its a pig of a job with the engine in. One has to remove the Inlet Manifold, fuel filter, possibly Power Steering Pump, wiring Loom along the front connects, ...

Asda 2.5 litre concentrate does this as it gets old, nasty stuff. Biological warfare, I bet it doesn't happen in Electric cars.

The Delphi ones are OK for three to four years, then the boot degrades, see my above explanation as to why. I have just had a Landrover one fitted to my 2013 XS, so will see how it goes, £180 each.

Hi, just my thoughts. The nearest filter inlet to the engine is the one to suck fuel through the engine pipework. I was just remembering, I filled the filter with a syringe first, and checked the drai ...
