Read the service sheet last week about what I was getting for my £300 1st service. On picking up my car, which wasn't washed Neutral I saw that my kerbed alloy was still in the same position. Turns out they had 'forgotten' to rotate the tyres, even though it was ticked on the worksheet. So honest mistake or a shortcut by the dealer? What else has been 'forgotten'? Cool I wouldn't have been that bothered, but they began by insisting it had been done, rather than just accept it and rectify the issue. 2010MY Freelander 2 HSE Auto

Evening All

Oh dear - this all seems too familiar i'm guessing

1st year service on FL2 XS Manual, 9120mls - booked into Stratstone, Lye, West Mids.

Bad start at the booking in stage, Question 1 - 1st Service, any problems to report - no; Question 2 - Would you like to have the Air Con Service £38 - no!, Question 3 - Would you like the fuel system flush £50 - no! Re-iterated, this is the 1st service at 9120mls - are these manufacturer recommended maintenance items?........... no answer.

Car will be ready at 1600hrs - having dropped it off early 0800hrs! must be a big job (busy fixing all the RR Sport faults i'd guess Smile )!

Phone call mid-morning, front brake pads probably won't make the next service!!!!!! now this is car drive by the misses, with 16mths baby since new!!! Would i like them changed - cost £310.......... errr no thanks

Collected car at 100hrs, price for service minus the extras they wanted to do............an eye watering £458!!! is it me - this is a rip-off of the worst type surely. Madness!

If i'd gone with their sales pitch, i'd have spent £856!!!

I know Landrover dealers provide poor customer service, but these astronomical costs are just plane madness.

Am i thinking of changing the car - oh yes, am i thinking of buying another Landrover - no thanks. Back to Mercedes-Benz me thinks, cheaper service cost, quality product, dealerships are always attentive and customer service.

I'd like to chat with someone from Jaguar-Landrover, but having filled in the customer feedback on new purchase last year, and still waiting for someone to ring me back about the way Guy Salmon dealt with us - i guess they wouldn't be interested in listening. Never mind, wife loves the car, hates the customer service / ownership experience. 2010 LR Freelander2 XS TD4_e Manual - Santorini Black (family car for the misses)

Interesting, I am moving away from Merc, three outstanding warranty issues not resolved, service booked not stamped, car arrived back at 8:30 pm.

Mercedes Benz have been atrocious for me, don't give a fig about service. Attended a recent VIP event and goit a great deal on a C250, then told them to stick it.

Freelander ordered, at last, LR ownership here I come

Booked into LPR for £438.66 inc vat, did I want engine flush? No thanks, courtesy car Ins £18, excess £250. Hourly rate £148 odd.
Previous FR2 had second service at Hadleigh Green as they were quite a bit cheaper than LPR. This time they quoted £539.90 inc vat.
Cost will horrify a lot of you, one of the joys of living in London..........JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Follow up to last post as service completed today. Confirmation text on booking, reminder text yesterday, reminder phone call yesterday, my opportunity to add in to look at near side mirror, held together by tape, can they fix it easily, if not provide report.......Drop off at 8.30, phone call lunchtime, service ok, mirror needs replacing, have one in stock, £213 inc labour plus vat which I agree to. Collect car at 5.30, £709.67.....
LPR excel at customer service, everything just fine with polite, friendly staff....
I had a MY11 Firenze Red LE as a loaner (£15 +Vat inc above) Felt faster than my MY10 despite less bhp, nice colour, shame no longer available........JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

Finally have our Freely back from its first service at the local Evil or Very Mad Stratstone Evil or Very Mad
Beat them down to £300 all in with courtesy car at this price Evil or Very Mad Poxy Mondeo Evil or Very Mad Had a couple of software issues which I have had to rebook in and this has been done this week.

Bad Bits: they now offer for £25 for a Valet inside and out which is supposed to be much better than the freeby one they do, Mrs AD thought it would be nice to get it done for me, sadly Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder do it. Evil or Very Mad

Brilliant Bits: They did the service a week ago and I have the sheet with tyre wear and brake pad wear clearly logged. They then a week later do another one as a safety check when I had the sofware issues resolved. I have it seems magic tyres and brakes, in the three hundred miles since the service my tyres have increased in tread depth by 1.5mm to 2mm and my brake pads have increased in thickness by the same margin. So I am on the lookout for a set of worn tyres, I reckon at this rate by christmas they will be as new. Laughing
