Totally agree. I wont be using a dealer for anything my local garage can do (or even me) for a fraction of the price. Forget OFCOM there should be dealerCOM ![]() |

take wheel off undo two bolts at rear of caliper, slide caliper apart, clean and re-assemble, simples assuming caliper isnt heavily corroded and/or piston stiff. mine are ok after a quick disassembly this morning.

You need 13mm and 15mm spanners, sadly you will probably find your handbrake shoes are knackered too so will have to get new ones, If your local factors have none and you need them in a hurry you may have to pay full price from your dealer |

Its rare to have to replace the hand brake shoes unless you drive round with your hand brake on lol. Alittle lubrication when rear pads are changed then you shouldnt have any problems unless your wading in salt water etc. every two or three months while driving about 25 miles an hour just pull your hand brake on for about 100 yards or so, just enough to keep the inside of the disc drums to be cleaned of rust build up then you wont go far wrong |
