The £1840 'leather' option on the GS comes with front and rear armrests, electric adjustment and a leather steering wheel too so imho well worth it and v v easy to maintain too.

Tigger - have you got a build date for your car? If you have a decent dealer for a factory order car then they should call you 48-72 hours before the build date to confirm that you want it as ordered or want to make any changes. If you have a September delivery then you dealer has loads of time yet to make changes to the order - if they won't then tell them they are bone idle and don't deserve your business. The parts buyers at Halewood won't even have thought about ordering the bits for your build yet, they only do that 2-3 weeks in advance, if that. So if you want Firenze Red and leather go kick a dealer's ass How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Leather is cold in the winter, hot in summer.

I can like the nappa steering wheel.

Overall, just not worth it and you dont recoup the cost when selling.

Thanks for the thought Tim, but it is now very late in the day; although I don't need to take delivery until the end of June (1/7/11 at the latest), I know that the Freelander is due into them some time during May. I used to have a Citroen C5 in exactly the same shade of green as Kosrae Green and whilst the car itself was a complete mechanical disaster, I did at least like the colour, so I'm happy!

It's now the beginning of April, still tons of time to change the spec. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

£1840 worth of good money to be spent elsewhere. Fuel amongst other things or other extras.

Yes mate, if I had to choose (Which I dont) then I would spend it on other extras like the FANTASTIC super smooth SD4 auto box that I have spent all day today having great fun with on my SD4 test drive. The sport mode is a real revelation !! I guess that the FANTASTIC SD4 auto box would be top of your wish list too !

I had leather in a mercedes and loved it, my XS has leather side and cloth middle which is fine. LR seem to be charging a lot for leather and electric seats as most other manufactures charge about £1000. On VW and BMW the electric seats not only adjust all ways ( 8 instead of 6) but the lumber supportcan be adjusted up and down as well as firmer/softer, as it should be in 2011.

Lumber adjust was standard for driver on my 2010 HSE  2010 HSE Galway Green auto GONE
