Light should come on anytime hatch is open, there are no other switches. However don't build your hopes about the light, it is pathetic little light when it does work and is in completely the wrong position, mounted at the side as it is. It should be mounted in the roof lining shining down so as to illuminate the entire luggage space. My car is an office on wheels, I use the hatch a lot and carry a lot of crap, this time of year now we're on minimal daylight it is a real frustration. |

Hi GS69, I've seen Carl's car in the flesh so I know what he has done, it is really effective. I'm going to try a similar idea though I want to mount the lights on the underside of the luggage cover. I've been holding off because of problems with my luggage cover - it fell to pieces a few weeks ago, I got it back together and sort of working (held together with duck-tape) awaiting the arrival of a new cover. Talking of which, surprise, surprise the new cover was fitted today while the car was back with the dealer for other problems. It is a bit of a shame that we're talking about work arounds for something as basic as a boot light don't you think ? It's just a shame that our £25-30k motors are lacking in this |

Hi avtur Forgot you met carlfraz (recovered yet ? ) you are right ,when you spend that amount of money you would hope they would have payed a little more attention to detail. The rear light is a pain also i find the instrument lighting is not quite bright enough so you can only adjust it from just about OK to non existent ! spare wheel is full size but only suitable for use as a spare ......hopefully they will learn that these annoying oversights and the seemingly endless electrical niggles/faults should not be part of the LR experience ....we live in hope.
