Cheers Thumbs Up

Can't afford to go silly money on the gun so I'm looking at around up to £1200'ish but Yorkguns has a nice looking Miroku MK38 gr5 long Teague second hand at £1400+ which looks lovely on their site, I felt the miruko fitted nicely when I went looking, but dont think they move much on their already higher than other prices Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Nick,

you are right, that Miroku is very nice.. Thumbs Up

Yorkgun will do a deal...I've purchased all my guns from them
and got a very good deal on them all.

I would think you will get the gun for £1200 without a problem..
offer them cash..it's king.

As long as you're happy with it; shotguns are a bit like a golfers putter!!!
Nice choice though.
If they don't budge, try haggling for cartridge discount. You'll spend more on those than your gun in no time!! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Going to try call in before the weekend, when I enquired regarding their new Winchester select energy they knocked £20 off and that even after I told them they was £125 more expensive Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

so i have been to see swillington and yorkguns

Both swilly and york say the Beretta Silver pig 1 fits nice (best price £1295)

I have looked at the Winchester select energy, which feels slightly heavier, a plainer scrolling on the side, but the matt finish feels and looks like it will polish up through use, the safety switch felt like it had unnatural movement in it (it wobbled) (£1250)

I looked at the MK38, new (£1495) and the 2 above felt nicer this time round, the Grade 5 MK38 (£1495) the wood was nice but the bluing was shot and worn away, and for less money i could get newer gun with warranty (so ruled this one out)

I have shot browning 30" and a beretta 28" game i feel i shoot as well with either, i hit a fair few and miss a fair few on both brands, but both swilly and york say i will have been shooting better with one or the other Confused

Also i need to decide on what i am doing with been right handed and left eye dominant, do i shoot one eye open, have my shooting glasses modified with a dot, or learn to shoot left handed, it also doesn't help that i am slightly long sighted in my left and slightly short in my right Big Cry

well going to have to think about it whilst on my hols next week, and speak with the coach at my shooting ground to see if we can get some hands on advice Neutral Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

the silver pigeon is a nice looking gun and should last a lifetime. IMO and hold it's value.

Nick,
Glad to see that you're not jumping in with both feet.
I tried a B525 last year, i shot ok with it but it's a bit heavy to carry around all day for game and i'd be concerned how long it would last.
There's a farmer who lives close to us and he's got a 20 odd year old B325. That's really nice and still looks like new despite heavy use. I tried that too and although i shot a bit low with it to begin with, i began to love it. It's top grade mind you. I'm in negotations with swmbo!!

I'm totally a lefty, but shot with both hands of gun without problems, i don't notice the different stock much either. My gun was my uncles; it's older than me. I've had to spend a few bob on it, but it's all i know. I've shot with it since i was about 12 years old. But i'm hunting down an old B325 now!
But your L/H and R/H problems both bemuse and amuse me. But does it matter?

Enjoy your new sport, but a word of warning. If not checked, it can play havoc with family life; Sunday mornings etc. Bit like golf at times, addictive. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Would a silver pig 1 game be a good choice? I would like to get into game in years to come (farmer pest control, not pheasants etc) and a website says it can be use for both game and sport?

I was shooting a 28"beretta game gun at the week end and noticed no kick from the 28g 7.5 we used, there 100 quid cheaper but has optichokes(flush) not multichokes according to berettas website Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Never tried one mate; we shoot pheasants and clays, but weight of the gun should be considered if you're carrying it around all day. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
