Have you tried the simple thing of pulling the connector off and pushing it back on?

yep tried that, the brake light is in the same bulb - that works so im a bit stumped..... |

Have you tried putting the bulb in from the other side? might just be the contact on the base of that particular bulb not pressing on hard enough? the brake light works, its in the same bulb, so the contact isnt an issue |

combined brake/side lights have two filaments so 2 contacts and earth.

Am I missing something here, as 'Mona Geeza' said, try the other side. There are two filaments in the bulb, just because the brake light works doesn't mean both filaments are healthy. |

yes i have tried a new bulb, funnily enough that was the first thing i checked. it didnt work. |

Not saying that this is your problem but most of the lights on the FL2 are driven from FET devices in the fuse box, these act like a relay and fuse combined.
